Forensic Accident Investigation

After the accident took place, these professionals recreate the same accident scene and study the outcome thoroughly. This position of a forensic scientist is called an accident investigator. To get a job in such a position, the candidate needs to have a degree in forensic science, forensic chemistry, chemistry or criminalistics. The range of starting salary is between $25,000 and $35,000.

Forensic Odontology

Forensic odontology deals with the compilation, assessment, and appropriate usage of dental evidence to help out in criminal and civil proceedings. These forensic scientists observe the teeth from the body remains that are unidentifiable.

Forensic Pathology

To get a job in the field of forensic pathology, you need to have knowledge about the principles of pathology, medicine and legal issues. As a forensic pathologist, you need to perform the tasks of autopsies and also carry out other investigations. The forensic scientists inspect the body while doing an autopsy and study surgically removed tissues. This process is important to get the exact cause of a person's death. Blood and urine are also analyzed. After this test, the expert can find out whether the death was a suicide, accidental, natural, or undetermined. If the death is undetermined, more test and researches will be conducted by the expert. To get a job of forensic pathologist, the candidate must have gone through 4 years of undergraduate course, 4 years of course in medical school, and 3 – 8 years internships. After such long years of study, the remuneration is bound to be handsome. Expect something in the range of $200,000 annually.

These are some interesting options of taking up a career in forensic science. There is lot of hard work and research included in such jobs. Most importantly, the remuneration is excellent in these jobs of forensic scientists.
