,AnswerValue:This opening is for an intern position to support and run high performance computing software in a research and development environment. The position requires full-time commitment for summer 2022 and, depending on needs and the candidate’s skills and interest, may extend into the fall semester as a part-time position. Computational simulations are routinely performed to develop or improve TEL’s technology equipment and chemical/physical processes. The candidate should have strong interest in physics or chemistry, as well as experience in programming, understanding, and running scientific software. In most cases, the candidate will work with the software’s source codes written in C/C , Fortran, Python, OpenGL and Qt. He/she should be able to understand how the code is working based on documentation, examples, and the source code itself. This opening is for a person who has experience and interest in molecular dynamics simulations such, for example, as with the LAMMPS code, or/and in quantum chemistry simulations such, for example, as with Gaussian or with Amsterdam Modeling Suite.\u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003eResponsibilities:\u003cbr/\u003e• Work independently (or with limited guidance) with the assigned complex scientific software on one of the projects of interest to TEL.\u003cbr/\u003e• Compile the software or install it in Linux or Windows environment, including the HPC environment.\u003cbr/\u003e• Understand the software and the computational methods used in it.\u003cbr/\u003e• Prepare input files and run particular cases of interest.\u003cbr/\u003e• Write reports documenting everything learned and all results obtained.\u003cbr/\u003e• Assist in conducting basic research.\u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003eQualifications: \u003cbr/\u003e• Pursuing Bachelor’s or advanced degree in in physics, chemistry, or engineering. \u003cbr/\u003e• Experienced with Linux/Unix operating systems.\u003cbr/\u003e• Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship\u003cbr/\u003e• Experienced in C/C /Fortran/Python programming languages. \u003cbr/\u003e• Experienced with molecular dynamics or quantum chemistry simulations.\u003cbr/\u003e• Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.\u003cbr/\u003e• Capable of working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. \u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003eEqual Opportunity Employer/Minorities/Females/Disabled/Veterans\u003cbr/\u003e,
