The CAR T and TCR Biology team in the Immuno-Oncology Cell Therapy Thematic Research Center has an opening for a highly motivated and creative Associate Scientist with a dedication to discovery and development of novel engineered CAR T and eTCR T cell therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. The successful candidate will have experience setting up in vitro functional assays to measure T cell function: including proliferation, cytokine production, phenotypic analysis and cytotoxic activity. Flow cytometry experience is essential. In addition, this position will work with senior researchers to execute studies, analyze data and communicate results. This position is ideal for the innovative scientist who is driven and passionate about cell therapy in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
CAR T cell and eTCR T cell generation, expansion, characterization and cryopreservation
CAR T cell and eTCR T cell phenotypic analysis using flow cytometry. In vitro functional evaluation using T cell/Tumor co-culture assays
Cytotoxic activity using IncuCyte
Collaborating with scientists and other researchers to design, perform and optimize in vitro experiments
Maintaining notebooks with detailed documentation of protocols, study designs and results
Perform data analysis and interpretation
Organize findings for effective communication to supervisor and colleagues
Qualifications:
B.S. in biological science, immunology or related discipline with at least 6 years of relevant work experience or M.S. with minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in T cell biology
Experience with in vitro technologies typically employed to assess T cell functionality including but not limited to MSD, IncuCyte-based assays, multi-parameter flow cytometry for phenotypic characterization of T cells, T cell activation assays, T cell proliferation analysis. Experience with imaging technologies desired but not required
Able to recognize potential problems and recommend/develop appropriate solutions
Ability to work productively as both team member and as individual contributor
Strong communication skills for working with cross-functional teams as well or cross-departmental colleagues
Requires strong organizational skills to ensure thorough and timely documentation of experiments,
