Job Description:
As a deep-water exploration geologist, the focus will be working with the US Gulf of Mexico (GOM) hydrocarbon plays. The position is primarily a salt tectonic specialist role that is accountable for building, improving and communicating industry-leading solutions to complex salt-involved problems at a prospect, play and basin scale. The role will involve working with geophysical, technology and imaging experts to propose and support seismic reprocessing work plans for both drill-site maturation and wider portfolio growth. This position will maintain HSSE ‘Goal Zero’ as a Shell standard.

Requirements:
MSc or PhD Degree Geology is required.
Must have over 15 years of experience with deep water exploration in the US Gulf of Mexico (GOM).
Significant experience with salt tectonic analysis is required.
Experience with ArcGIS, seismic interpretation software, seismic imaging and reprocessing complex 2D and 3D seismic datasets are required.
Must have expertise in play-based exploration methods and building geological models to support new opportunity capture.
Experience in Brazil, Angola, Gabon, Mexico, Canada & NW Africa is a plus.
