ENSCO's National Security Solutions (NSS) Division provides innovative customized products and services vital to national safety and security. We seek a team-oriented Physical Scientist / Computational Chemist to provide technical support on a variety of mission critical environmental modeling and simulation projects. The successful candidate will use analytical problem-solving skills to address unique real-world modeling and simulation challenges and will often work with a multidisciplinary team of scientists to meet these needs. This will include activities such as predicting physical property data, interpreting spectral signatures, and comparing modeled and experimental data. The ability to describe and document the modeling work to a varied audience through report writing and technical presentation is important.Bachelor’s degree with 2 years experience in a Physical Science (Chemistry, Physics), Mathematics, or Chemical EngineeringExperience in at least one of the following areas:Application of Computational Chemistry and/or Computational Physics to supplement experiment.Course work in Chemistry, Computational Science Methods, and Statistics.High Performance Computing (HPC) usage (CPU).Application of quantum chemical methods.Chemical principles associated with environmental fate (gas or condensed phase), spectral signatures, and modeling and simulation.Experience with programming and scripting in languages such as Python, C/C , RUST, and/or FORTRANMust be proficient on various platforms (PC, Unix and/or Linux as a minimum).Experience with Microsoft Office, including scientific applications using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Strong analytical problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge towards solving real-world problemsA self-starter with excellent technical writing and verbal skills. Must have the ability to communicate with multidisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers.Ability to work in a team environment and a willingness to learn from peers.The ability to obtain a SECURITY CLEARANCE is essential for which you must be a U.S. citizen. If you do not meet this requirement, you will not be considered.Master’s degree in a Physical Science (Chemistry, Physics), Mathematics, or Chemical EngineeringSkill using Computational Chemistry Tools including Gaussian, GAMESS, Psi4, NWChem and/or ACES.Experience working with High Performance Computing (HPC) platforms (CPU and GPU).Skill using environmental and engineering modeling tools including HPAC, SCIPUFF, ChemCAD, QUIC, and ARC-GISExperience in any of the following areas: Infrared Spectroscopy (near, mid, and far), quantum chemical modeling, nuclear chemistry, mechanistic chemistry, kinetics modeling, statistical analysis of laboratory data.Experience in Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNE) programsA current U.S. Security Clearance at the TS level or above (TS/SCI preferred) are desired.#LI-WL1The National Security Solutions (NSS) Division focuses on solutions for the toughest problems in defense, intelligence, and homeland security missions.
