Humana's Legal, Risk & Compliance organization (LRC) is seeking a Data Scientist to support the strategy of the Chief Risk Office. It also builds risk strategy and culture to assist the organization in managing risk appropriately. LRC serves as a second line of defense in overseeing key business risks and plays a key role in establishing a consistent definition of risk across the enterprise to drive connections and collaboration throughout the business and ensure timely, proactive discovery and faster mitigation of risks and their causes.
Responsibilities
The Data Scientist 2 will collaborate with legal, risk, and compliance teams to develop and support analytic and reporting use cases. This role will require an individual who enjoys working on every element of the project lifecycle, from gathering initial requirements to user testing and deployments. A desire to work with data of all shapes and sizes is necessary as our organization works with operational data from all areas of the company.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
Collect and Maintain structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting
Creating reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business strategy and tactics
Understanding department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
Building tools for the department to provide insights into the rest of the Humana organization for Legal, Risk and Compliance towers to leverage.
Collaborating with operational teams to understand their work and processes and help build solutions to enhance these areas.
Presenting insights and findings from analyses to senior leadership
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
1 or more years of data analytics, statistical analytics and/or predictive modeling experience
Proficiency in using SQL, SAS, Python, Stata and/or R
Experience in developing, maintaining, and collecting structured and unstructured data sets for use in analysis and reporting
Experience in using mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform complex data into advanced analytic solutions
Capable of making decisions regarding technical approach and solutions in complex project environments
Flexible, dynamic personality who is able to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Degree
Experience with one or more business intelligence tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik)
Experience with Microsoft Azure, including Databricks and Azure Synapse
Healthcare and/or managed care experience
