Position Scientist, Computer System Maintenance Manager Manager, Computer System Maintenance Prerequisites N/A Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Purpose and Scope of Position
The Scientist of Computer System Maintenance is an individual contributor responsible for completing activities and initiatives associated with GxP computerized systems at the Phoenix Site. These activities include delivery, validation, maintenance and support.
Required Competencies:

Intermediate knowledge of Windows operating systems and laboratory specific applications
Intermediate knowledge of IT fundamentals including Networking, Virtual server technology, backup and recovery, security, Active Directory and disaster recovery strategies
Intermediate knowledge of coding and scripting
Intermediate knowledge of IT system support
Intermediate knowledge of Software Design Life Cycle
Intermediate knowledge of Software support
Ability to deal appropriately with regulatory agencies with support of management
Intermediate knowledge of cGMP, GXP, GAMP
Basic knowledge of SDLC processes
Requires flexibility and ability to multi-task

Duties and Responsibilities Support for new system deployments.
With guidance from management completes deliverables during the delivery, commissioning of GxP computerized systems at the Phoenix site.
Provides support to project teams related to deliverables for Computer System Maintenance department related to user support and data management.
Supports generation of validation and support documents (SOP’s, Configuration Specification, etc.).
Executes validation protocols against systems as applicable.
Generates Purchase orders for equipment, software and services.
Interacts with application support groups while troubleshooting issues. Routine support for GxP computerized systems at the Phoenix Site
Performs routine user and system maintenance and basic troubleshooting of GxP computerized systems.
Works with senior team members and management to implement identified process improvements for existing GxP computerized systems.
Initiates change controls, CAPA’s and document changes/creation as necessary.
Supports evaluation of activities for changes to the following: OS, Application versioning, process and policies to GxP computerized systems.
Provides basic training to users of systems. Ensures systems are available for production use and any down time is minimized to reduce impact to user teams.
Completes routine and on demand work orders for GxP computerized systems. Involved with site interdepartmental initiatives and site projects.
Will attend project meetings as directed by Management.
Will complete project deliverables as assigned by Project or department management. Performs other tasks as assigned.
Education and Experience
Relevant college or university degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years relevant work experience.
Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
Working Conditions:
The incumbent will be required to work in an office environment potentially requiring ergonomic considerations.
The incumbent will be required to work in a conference room environment for moderate periods of time.
The incumbent will be required to work with computers for up to 8 hours per day, including typing and viewing computer screens during this time.
Occasional excursions to labs, production area or warehouse requiring some level of gowning.
This position requires regular medical surveillance.
Exposure to typical manufacturing, laboratory, mechanical and warehouse environments.
