FlowMetric, a KCAS company, is looking to for a dynamic Scientist II to join our dedicated team of scientists who focus on Client Service and Quality, located at our laboratories in Doylestown, PA. The ideal candidate will be motivated, energetic, forward thinking, and possess outstanding technical skills, organizational awareness, and a commitment to excellence in their work.

The Scientist II position is an integral team member role and is directly responsible for the preparation, conduct and analysis of experiments that contribute to the successful completion of scientific projects in the laboratory in a high quality and efficient manner. 

n

The Scientist II will follow complex flow cytometry projects from inception to completion and will become a key data provider to support the Director. 

n

The Scientist II will be expected to contribute intellectually to the progress of the project while acting as a mentor to peers in a supportive manner when necessary. 

n

In this role, we will rely on you for the following:

n
    n
  • Responsible for the design and execution of laboratory worksheets for complex flow cytometry preclinical and clinical studies.
  • n
  • Responsible for performing all laboratory activities in accordance with GLP and GCP.
  • n
  • Responsible for revising and following SOPs.
  • n
  • Responsible for the execution of experiments for client sponsored projects.
  • n
  • Able to undertake projects through to completion while working on other projects at different stages.
  • n
  • Able to create project data summaries and presentations/ reports according to company standards.
  • n
  • Proficient on all relevant equipment.
  • n
  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel applications.
  • n
  • Assist Director in communications directly with client either by email or in meetings.
  • n
  • Possess excellent time management skills, multi-tasking capabilities and strong organizational skills.
  • n
  • Keep abreast of relevant literature to function in the position.
  • n
  • Act as an advocate for FlowMetric at external meetings, external and internal functions when required.
  • n
  • Performs any other duties as required or assigned.
  • n
  • Perform all flow cytometry operations, including sample preparation, sample acquisition, data analysis, and presentation.
  • n
  • Proficient on all equipment to include FACSARIA III and LSR Fortessa high-throughput, and any other equipment as required.
  • n
  • Operate, maintain, calibrate and trouble shoot laboratory instruments according to SOPs.
  • n
  • Develop client interactions and relationships.
  • n
  • Operate as an integral team member in day-to-day laboratory operations.
  • n
  • Use of FlowJo analysis software.
  • n
  • Use of cell sorting and single cell isolation techniques.  
  • n

Education and Experience:

n
    n
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a scientifically related discipline with at least 3 years of prior industry experience in immunology/ cell biology/ flow cytometry (Master’s in Science preferred).
  • n
  • Experience with Becton Dickinson cytometer instruments preferred.
  • n
  • Prior flow cytometry experience required.
  • n
  • Familiarity with FACSDiva software and FlowJo Software.
  • n
  • Experience in a GLP laboratory environment preferred.
  • n
n
