Job Details:
SUMMARY:
Responsibilities will vary from performing one to several procedures / work instructions of chemical, microbiological, or quality system analyses in an accredited food safety laboratory. Precision, accuracy, and attention to detail in performance of the work instructions & data collection is essential; must be able to maintain ISO records for process control and to comply with quality system and safety requirements. Initial proficiency testing must be passing, and competency will be verified at least annually thereafter. Team member will be required to work independently, resolve routine problems, plan work schedule, troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance of equipment, and demonstrate proficiency and growth after training; other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education- College degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Food Science preferred or college science classes with working laboratory experience.
Computer Skills- general knowledge of Windows Microsoft Office applications
Communication Skills- strong verbal & written communication skills
Special Skills- Work activities are well defined with clearly stated directions or guidelines. Most work steps are clearly prescribed and cannot be modified. Most work duties require repetitive operations.
Training Programs:
The training needs for this job classification have been assessed by the appropriate management team member. The amount and level of training required are dependent on the level of responsibility authorized to team members assigned with this job classification. Aside from the minimum required training, programs may vary from team member to team member.
Position Specific Requirements:
Entry level, primarily night-shift position after initial training completion; weekends and holidays required to meet business needs.
1st preference given to applicants with a degree; 2nd preference is to applicants with education and experience in relationship to Chemistry and or Microbiology.
