**Job Description Summary**
The Electron Microscopist Specialist will be responsible for the day to day operation of our W filament and FEG SEM / EDS's as well as Microprobe units. This will include providing expert SEM / EDS and Microprobe analyses, preparing data reports and communicating with a large diverse group of internal customers. The position requires excellent communication and prioritization skills due to the often high workload. Additional responsibilities will include sample preparation, ensuring the equipment is properly maintained, serviced to ensure minimal equipment down time, and that the lab area is maintained to a high EHS standard.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
Execute, with guidance from engineering and production resources, analyses by SEM / EDS and Microprobe
Prepare and present technical data to a large internal and external customer base
Document and communicate results of technical data generated
Flexible to take on additional technical responsibilities
Responsible for coordinating equipment maintenance and performing routine maintenance procedures and ensure Electron Microscopy Lab supplies are available
Staying informed on latest SEM / EDS / Microprobe techniques and equipment
Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives
**Required Qualifications**
Bachelors in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics from an accredited college or university
**Desired Characteristics**
Familiarity with SEM related techniques / equipment (ex. EBSD, etc)
Fractography and / or Microprobe experience
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence others
Ability to work with and prioritize workload during high workload periods
Works effectively independently and within teams
Established US Govt Security Clearance
