Job Description:

As a Senior Scientist/Engineer for Soil & Groundwater you will be part of a team of 'deep-technical' experts that support one or more of the following key areas within Soil and Groundwater:


Technical Assurance on a portfolio of contaminated sites with liabilities of the order of 10s to 100s of M$

Regulatory Advocacy

Research & Development

Risk Management

Due Diligence on Acquisitions & Divestments

Water Resource Management


You will provide technical assurance support for contaminated land management and/or water resource management projects. Ensures high quality delivery of technical aspects of a project by 3rd-party consultants.

You may contribute to lead Research & Development to deliver leading-edge technology and contaminated land management approaches; opportunity to present and/or publish research / good practice.

You may contribute to regional Regulatory Advocacy activities/projects that are designed to maintain Shell’s strategic-leadership and/or trusted advisor status in contaminated site risk assessment and management.

Requirements:


Bachelor's degree in a relevant science or engineering with Master's or Ph.D.in Hydrogeology, Contaminated Land Management, Environmental Engineering or a closely related discipline.
10 years' experience in contaminated land/ groundwater
Subject Matter Expert in Soil and Groundwater
Willing to be assigned in Houston, Texas or Los Angeles, California
Willing to travel 10% of the time on as-needed basis
